Clarify Mind: 6 of 12: Calm and Patience

posted in: Deven's Journey, Mindfulness | 0

I am universal consciousness – the Atma. I am spacious awareness, stillness, calm, peace, joy, bliss, compassion, loving care, and healing. In that space, I keep a peaceful heart for what is happening and act following my inner compass. Patience is natural and easy. I tune into my inner voice, flow, and intuition. I follow the guidance of my conscience and my inner connection. It can give me the fire, drive, and energy to act with purpose and harmony.

When I am attached to external bindings, they pull me away from my inner compass. When my mind is bound to emotional currents, I can be swept away. Fear and anxiety can take hold, and my ego can lead me to react from it. Anger, agitation, frustration, and negativity can make me impatient and pull me away from inner peace.

Being aware of emotional currents, detaching from them, and observing them as a witness can help me connect with stillness within. It can open my mind so I can let them go, like clouds passing through the sky. My mind can be like the sky.

I surrender to, identify with, and open up to the divine energy to guide and nurture me, so I can stay calm in trying moments. I draw on inner strength to take proactive initiatives rather than react out of fear. It can give me courage and equanimity. It gives me the resilience to stay with it without being swept away. In that space, I can move much faster than anything I could do out of impatience and reactivity.

Ripples for Calm and Patience

Things unfold according to their nature. What makes me rush them? It is anger, directly or subtly. Beneath anger lies fear. What in the current situation is making me feel threatened? What stops me from accepting the current situation as it is? What frustrates me right now?

Life passes through me. Situations arise. Do I react from past imprints, become a victim of fear and rage, and fan the fire? Or tap into the freedom within, follow the inner compass, and open my mind like the sky.

Let trying moments and difficult emotions soften me rather than harden me.

Trauma and large energies within us are like a sleeping dragon – they can overwhelm us. As I sit beside the dragon and stay present with my pain, steadily and kindly, it changes. What once terrified can become an inner fuel: courage, clarity, a deeper truthfulness.

What comes next will be determined, in no small measure, by who I am now. Patience helps me bring balance to the present moment.
