Clarify Mind: 2 of 12: Witness

I am the Atma - the spacious awareness. Can I witness whatever comes up in my mind or body without judging it?

It is the very nature of the thinking mind and ego to compare, judge, and evaluate. They save me from harm's way, and guide me to act sensibly. For example, they help me behave responsibly in society or avoid killing myself by standing in the middle of a busy freeway lane.

However, my mind and ego also judge or label everything as good or bad. Judging is black and white - I like it or don't like it, I want it or don't want it. When I want the experience to be a certain way, that's craving, and I start to strive and put in too much effort. When I am dissatisfied with something, that's aversion, and I try to avoid it or make it go away. Chronic, viral-like toxicity creates a veil, preventing me from clearly seeing and navigating reality. Can I observe it all in the light of my consciousness and awareness? I am the witness.

The weather of thoughts and emotions continually emerge and pass through - it is part of the nature. Can I let it go? Can I be a witness to the drama of my mind without attaching to it or being swept away with it?

Being a witness allows me to see the current reality in clear light. It can help clarify my mind. It can expand the inner space for the peace, joy, bliss, and positive ripples to emerge and heal my mind, body, and intellect.

Paradigm with Mindfulness - Think and act like a beginner

Can I detach from the stream of thoughts without condemning or pursuing them? Can I cultivate moment-to-moment, non-judgmental awareness?
