We saw groves of yellow trees, highlighting the Lake Tahoe mountain landscapes. We learned the yellow trees are quaking aspen or trembling aspen.
While driving on the west side of the lake, we saw thick groves of aspen trees in one area. We turned into one of them to take a picture or two. I am happy we did. The dominating yellow’s vibrancy, vivacity, and brightness etched a lasting imprint.
The breeze picked up when I was about to return to our car, and I heard leaves trembling in one corner. I walked towards it and listened to the soothing music of aspen leaves fluttering with the wind. The following video is my attempt to capture the magic of the trembling leaves.
We saw fascinating yellow colors in the other areas, too. The juxtaposition of the yellow aspen among green pine trees around the lake captured me. The yellow-colored trees around the parking lots, buildings, and walkways created a refreshing shift to see it all in a different light.
